‘Dark web cannibal,’ sentenced to 40 years for plotting to rape, eat young girl
A Texas wannabe cannibal from Joaquin, Texas who plotted to kill, rape and devour a teenage girl with what he didn’t realize was an undercover cop has been sentenced to eat prison food for the next four decades, The U.S. Sun reports.
Alexander Barter, 23, pleaded guilty to attempted coercion and enticement of a minor.
The Texas man whose cannibalistic urges led him to want to eat the 13-year-old girl was also convicted of distribution of child pornography.
For these crimes, a judge in Texas sentenced Barter to 480 months in a federal prison on Thursday, ensuring that he’ll have no more chances to eat teenage girls for a long, long time to come.
Following his time behind bars, Barter agreed to submit to a lifetime of supervised release, according to KLTV.

Barter’s trouble with the law and ultimate conviction for coercing and enticing the girl began when the Texas resident shared a post on the dark web in October 2018 in which he said he was interested in necrophilia and cannibalism.
“I’d like to try necrophilia and cannibalism, and see how it feels to take a life,” the clearly twisted young man from Texas broadcast to the dark underbelly of the internet.
His statement then took an even darker turn. The aspiring cannibal from Texas who would be convicted of coercing the girl sought out people willing to let him eat them: “If you’d be willing to let me kill you, are in the US (preferably in the south) and can travel by car, contact me.”
According to CBS Dallas Fort Worth, a public safety officer saw the post and sprang into action.
An undercover officer saw the ad and responded, utilizing the persona of a father with a 13-year-old daughter.

Between October 8 and 19 of 2018, the young aspiring cannibal from Texas exchanged a number of messages with the necrophilia narc in which he expressed a desire to kill, rape and eat the phony girl.
Barter was quite detail minded, proving the undercover agent with instructions on traveling from Florida to Shelby County, Texas. The would-be cannibal also instructed the would-be dad about how to coerce the girl he intended to eat into traveling to Texas, and how to cover up their crime in the end.
Barter proved he most certainly wasn’t kidding around about his desire to get the girl to Texas so he could eat her in a horrifying act of cannibalism.
As KIRO 7 reports, he showed up to the rendezvous point in Joaquin, Texas, that he’d agreed upon with the undercover agent bearing supplies that indicated his desire to carry out his gastronomic crime.
He brought a knife and garbage bag to the meeting, as well as a tablet and cellphone, investigators said.

“As this chilling case demonstrates, online talk is not always just talk. The constant vigilance of our law enforcement partners has prevented an evildoer from finding a like-minded accomplice and bringing his grisly plan to fruition,” a clearly disgusted U.S. Attorney Stephen J. Cox said of the Texas wannabe cannibal’s failed effort to kill, rape and eat a 13-year-old girl.
“This case is a sobering reminder of how the brave men and women of law enforcement face down the worst of the worst in the scariest of scenarios.”
“In my 23-year-career in law enforcement, this is among the most morally depraved and appalling criminal conspiracies that I have come across,” said special agent Mark Dawson. “Without the quick and decisive actions of special agents from HSI Cocoa Beach and HSI Beaumont this disturbed predator would still be out there looking for potential victims to carry out his sick and demented fantasies.”
According to KLTV 7, prosecutors brought the case against the aspiring Texas cannibal and stopped his plot to eat the girl as a part of Project Safe Childhood, which is a nationwide initiative that the U.S. Department of Justice launched in 2006 to combat the expanding epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse online.
Led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
