Followers Flocked to New York Post Twitter Account During Blackout
The New York Post on Friday reported that data showed it had gained about 190,000 Twitter followers while it was locked out of its account by the social media platform.
Analytics tool Social Blade said the bump represented a 10.6% increase in just about two weeks.
A tweet announcing the Post’s return to the social media site on Friday racked up close to 50,000 likes in about an hour, the news outlet reported.
Twitter locked the account Oct. 14 over the Hunter Biden email controversy, and the tabloid’s refusal to delete six tweets linking to the stories, claiming it was based on hacked information.
